The First Ever Sport Stacking Competition at Sea

Date: Jun 29, 2016

The Inaugural Sport Stacking Cruise was held June 23-27th, 2016. Cruisers boarded the Carnival Elation in Jacksonville, FL and sailed to Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas. Stackers on the cruise explored the islands as they wished, with many doing guided tours, snorkeling adventures or just spent time relaxing on the beach. Ship time fun included large group dinners, swimming, miniature golf, lots of ice cream, and just enjoying each other’s company. Of course no stacking cruise would be complete without competitions.

Stacking competitions were held in both Freeport and Nassau. Eighteen competitors vied for top awards in individual and doubles events, with new state records being set in both tournaments. Overall Champions for the combined cruise tournaments were Nick Stamm and Elizabeth Duke.

Special Thanks to all of the families who participated in planning and hosting the tournaments. The success of the tournaments is due to all of your help. Thank you!

Discussions have already begun for a possible stacking cruise next year. Parents and supporting adult family members are welcome to join the Sport Stacking Parents Facebook page to stay in contact regarding everything stacking related, including possible future cruise plans.
